Responsibilities: - Ensure Cloud and Resource availability for Banks Private Cloud based on VCF. - Timely assess the Infrastructure and provide inputs to the Project Manager with the help of an Architect/VMware backend team. - Manage VMware environment, supporting tools, and troubleshoot the Enterprise environment. - Administer VMware implementations, including HA, DRS, templates, and cloning. - Handle storage allocation to ESX clusters and troubleshoot VMDK/RDM in virtual machines. - Manage Inventory/Asset Management for Storage, Backup, DR, and Availability. - Collaborate with the Windows Active Directory and Group Policies for installation, patching, customization, capacity management, and maintenance of vSphere ESXi and other VMware components. - Perform performance management of physical and logical disk systems. - Coordinate with the VMware NSX team for Network integration. - Interface with VMware backend teams for troubleshooting, critical escalations, and call resolution. - Drive prompt resolution of service requests, incidents, and communicate status periodically. - Monitor Cloud on a periodic basis for improvement areas and provide inputs to the Program Manager. - Create monitoring dashboards, generate reports, and create triggers. - Conduct RCA of Security incidents using logs and develop critical errors dashboard. - Manage large-scale enterprise environments of VMware Cloud Foundation product deployments. - Define monitoring criteria and processes to support industry best practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional VMware project teams. - Analyze the client environment and implement best practices for ensuring stability. - Generate and share reports as required by clients about the environment. - Prepare plans for patching, upgrade, and update of products in the VCF environment. - Create standard operating procedure documents for repetitive tasks. - Ensure Disaster Recovery Readiness of the environment. - Perform Ad hoc/planned DR activities as needed. - Work as part of a wider project team or independently function as a technical lead. - Take ownership and accountability for individual deliverables. - Maintain high-level technical knowledge of the entire VMware product portfolio and future product direction. - Stay updated on recent technological and software developments and advances in computer technology. As an L2 Resident Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to manage Tanzu Kubernetes Clusters efficiently. You should have a solid understanding of VMware solutions like vSphere, VMware NSX, VMware vSAN, and vRealize Operations to ensure seamless integration and operation of the Tanzu platform. A key aspect of your role will involve troubleshooting issues related to the Tanzu/Kubernetes platform and providing timely resolutions to ensure optimal performance, zero trust security, and platform stability. You will also need to grasp the concepts of microservices architecture and assist application teams in onboarding applications onto the Tanzu platform. Knowledge of CNCF tools such as Jfrog Artifactory, Harbor, and dockerhub for hosting container images will be essential. Additionally, you will be responsible for handling Vulnerability Scanning using tools like Trivy, configuring Backup and Restore for Kubernetes Clusters using Velero, and managing S3 Compatible Storage.
