Knowledge of network management concepts and basic protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, IPv4, IPv6, REST) Strong understanding of TCP/IP layer, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, REST services and hands on experience on testing them. Job Description Helps design, document, build, deploy and support complex compute solutions in support of enterprise application development and production teams. Identifies and recommends configuration improvements, process improvements, automation opportunities, and upcoming technologies. Provides next level of support, training and mentors for administration team members. Configures disaster recovery software for local and global DR scenarios. Collaborates with other teams to resolve technical problems. Works with manager to resolve client issues. Helps configure and migrate clients to public cloud services. Plans, schedules and installs system upgrades and patches. Adheres to and complies with company change management processes. Supports manager in streamlining processes for enterprise level service delivery. Integration of new technologies to improve service offerings and better support the business. Performs other duties as assigned Experience with unified computing solutions (Cisco UCS) is a plus Experience supporting VMWare clusters, experience creating VMWare clusters is a plus Experience configuring and troubleshooting backup solutions, TSM is a plus Experience with storage platforms, including SAN and NAS Experience with VDI/Citrix is a plus Experience with agile development is a plus MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance) Network Monitoring: Monitor the Network health of Data Centers, high priority sites and remote Avantor sites. Network operations: Work closely with multiple internal teams and end users in resolving any network issues reported globally. Work with vendor: Work with Internet Service providers and data center management teams in monitoring, resolving and following up on issues reported. Handle Escalation: Take care of escalations from the Level 1 teams. Network Standard: Be a lead in analyzing the current network setup and improve them to meet the standards. Next-Gen Network: Utilize the Network Expertise in improvising the Avantor`s Network Infrastructure to be next-gen. Lead Technical Support: Optimize and make a positive employee support experience. Partner with Security & Compliance: Drive core security and compliance projects to ensure we're protecting our information assets Excel at communication: Be a clear & timely communicator to our associates & leadership, about the state and strategy of Core IT Services & Operations QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience And Certifications) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Minimum 3 years’ experience working with information technology, with emphasis on wide area data networks Experience in large network environments (more than 1,000 employees & 50+ sites). Experience dealing directly with major telecommunication carrier(s) and outsourcing service provider(s) Familiarity with wide area data network environment is a plus. CCNA or other advanced network and infrastructure professional certifications preferred KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently) Skills: Thorough understanding of technology as it relates to telecommunications & data communications, data centers, network architecture, security, and troubleshooting. Must have worked on Monitoring and Supporting internal/external customer networks. Must have excellent troubleshooting skill. Good experience with Networking products of Cisco, F5, Palo Alto, Viptela, Meraki, and Aruba. Very good understanding of service provider and telecommunications carrier business. Good experience with Monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, and IP address Management. Good communication skill required to work with internal/external customers of Avantor.
