Vmware Engineer

VMware L2 Resource

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced VMware L2 Resource to join our team. The successful

candidate will provide technical support and troubleshooting for VMware infrastructure,

including ESXi, vCenter, virtual machines, Veeam/Commvault Backup, HCI and SAN/NAS Storage. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure security, performance, and reliability of domain infrastructure, as well as excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving

skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Virtualization Infra:

• Provide L2 technical support for VMware infrastructure, including troubleshooting and

resolving issues

• Monitor and respond to alerts and notifications from VMware monitoring tools
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as patching and upgrading VMware software
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtual machine performance, networking,

and storage

• Collaborate with L1 resources to resolve issues and escalate complex problems to L3

resources as needed

• Document knowledge and procedures in a knowledge management system
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support.
• Vendor management (For support cases logged)

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree (BTech) For Eg: Information Technology, Computer Science, or

a related field (or equivalent experience).

Mandatory Certifications in VMware Professional Level

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience working with VMware infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter, vSphere)
• Strong understanding of VMware architecture, configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience with VMware troubleshooting tools, such as ESXi logs and vCenter

performance charts

• Strong understanding of Veeam Backup and Replication technologies
• Experience with SAN/NAS Storage infra configuration
• Strong understanding of HCI technology.
• Experience with Cisco Intersight, UCS Manager
• Experience with VMware troubleshooting tools, such as ESXi logs and vCenter

performance charts

• VMware Professional Level certifications (VCP, VCIX, or VCAP) preferred

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with other virtualization platforms (e.g. Hyper-V, KVM)
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms
• Experience with IT service management frameworks

Work Environment:

Engineer should be available on-site on 24/7 shifts. Engineer should support planned activities

such as Patching, migration, DR Drill etc which happens during night
