As a part of GMS VMware support team deliverables, the engineer is required to have strong Admin, Operate and Manage skills in VMware Horizon View and vSphere products to provide services for global HPE customers. Candidate should have a strong customer focus, sensitivity in dealing with diverse cultures, ability to learn and adapt quickly. Eligibility & Qualification: Bachelors degree in Engineering (or Equivalent). Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Enterprise Managed Service environment. Certification on the latest track of VMware VCP, ITIL is an added advantage. Flexible to work in 24/7 support environment. Minimum level should be SPE if applying as part of Internal Job Posting. Experience of monitoring, installation, configuration, administrator of VMware (like, vSphere ESXi Hypervisor 6.0 and above, vCenter), Dell Storage & Networker Backup, Data Domain. Role & responsibilities Mange the installation, deployment and configuration of Windows servers and VMware virtualization platform, perform security checks and troubleshoot issues ensuring maximum performance and uptime for all Windows servers and VM ware platform leading to optimal performance Handle day to day operations of Windows and VMware technologies and support the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Windows servers and VMware virtualization platform. Define and enforce standards, policies, and procedures for Windows and VMware system administration, security, and compliance. Installation of latest security patches on Esxi hosts via SHH & VUM quarterly on ESX/ESXi servers. Migration of physical server to virtual through standalone converter. Creating & managing User accounts, OS hardening, handling of various services of Windows server & ESX/ESXi servers, managing the password policies of the users, file permissions, Admin access, restricting anonymous access of registry, etc. Installation & up gradation of operating system. (Windows sever 2008 & R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016 , 2019), ESX servers (5.0,6.0,6.5 , 6.7,7.0 & 8.0). Antivirus, patches. Creating VMs, taking snapshot, clones, templates (deploying new VMs from templates), VM migration on ESX servers, Storage Migration. Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning to optimize resource utilization and enhance system efficiency.
