Job Summary: The Load Man – Chemical Handling is responsible for the safe loading, unloading, and movement of chemical materials, including hazardous and flammable substances. The role requires strict adherence to safety procedures and the use of protective equipment while handling chemicals. Key Responsibilities: · Load and unload chemicals from transport trucks, drums, tanks, or containers using appropriate manual or mechanical means. · Handle materials as per MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) guidelines and follow all chemical handling SOPs. · Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as gloves, masks, goggles, and protective clothing at all times. · Ensure proper labeling, stacking, and storage of chemical containers. · Assist in spill control, containment, and cleaning procedures under supervision. · Check for leaks, damage, or unsafe packaging before and after loading. · Follow fire safety and hazardous material protocols strictly. · Maintain cleanliness and compliance in chemical storage and loading areas. · Report any incidents, near misses, or safety breaches immediately. Requirements: · Education: Minimum 8th standard preferred; must be able to read safety instructions and labels. · Physical fitness: Must be able to lift and handle heavy chemical containers safely. · Skills: o Basic knowledge of hazardous materials and safe handling. o Familiarity with MSDS and PPE. o Ability to follow instructions and safety norms. · Must be free from respiratory problems and medically fit for duty in chemical environments.
