Role & responsibilities Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: • Design, develop and support electronic and electro-mechanical features of products within the Controls Group utilizing Electrical Engineering skills. • Ability to understand electrical diagrams like schematics, Electrical Harness diagrams, line diagrams etc. • Computer aided design tools such as Altium and CodeWarrior, create and test electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical models, and provide support to manufacturing. Familiarity with Controls & Actuator design codes and certifications and can create product designs which comply to these standards. Thorough understanding of Controls product manufacturing requirements, product packaging, and product documentation. Maintains a thorough understanding of industry standards and trends as they apply to Controls products and Connectivity technology. Core Competencies: Experience with AC/DC motor control design and AC/DC, DC-DC power supply design desired. Experience in Industrial controls actuator/Valve product design is preferred. Experience in sensor design for IoT applications is preferred. Experience in electronic circuit design, both digital and analog, incorporating embedded microcontrollers, high voltage and current designs. Thermal analysis, load analysis, simulations, power budget and error calculations. Demonstrated expertise with PCB design tools; OrCAD, Altium Designer, and Freescale, ST, Infineon controllers. Knowledge of the following computer languages preferred: C,” “C++,” “.NET”, assembly code. Experience in Industrial protocols Modbus, ProfiBus, Ethernet IP etc and interfaces USB, I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet. Experience with following a product development process and design validation and verification. • Experience performing and witnessing the environmental tests like EMI, EMC, Vibration, Temperature Cycle. Etc. • Experience using general lab test equipment’s like, oscilloscope, multimeters, signal generators, Network analyzer. • Experience in testing and debugging the circuit assemblies.
