Vice President of Engineering

As the VP of Engineering at Tartan, you will play a pivotal role in leading our dynamic engineering team towards success. Your primary responsibility will be to define and drive the technical direction of our products, ensuring the implementation of best coding practices and successful tech delivery in a SaaS product environment. Your strategic leadership skills will be crucial in defining the long-term technical vision and strategy of the engineering organization, aligning it with the company's business objectives. You will foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the team, overseeing the development of technical roadmaps and project plans to drive the company forward. Managing and developing a high-performing engineering team of 30+ members will be a key aspect of your role. You will recruit and hire top engineering talent to build a world-class team while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving. Your technical expertise across various engineering domains, including system design, architecture, and compliance, will be essential in providing guidance and ensuring adherence to best coding practices. Staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends will enable you to drive innovation within the organization. Collaborating closely with product management and stakeholders, you will define and deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs. Your role will involve leading the design and architecture of scalable backend systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with industry standards and regulations. To qualify for this role, you should have 12+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a VP of Engineering or similar position. A minimum of 5 years of experience in AI/ML is mandatory, along with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. Proficiency in Java and Python, as well as experience with relevant frameworks and technologies, is required. Preferred qualifications include experience with system compliance in SaaS product companies, knowledge of cloud computing platforms, and familiarity with agile development methodologies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a passion for innovation and commitment to delivering exceptional results, will set you up for success in this role.,
