Job Title: Lab Assistant Furniture & Transit Testing Location: Bhandu, Jodhpur Department: Quality Assurance / Testing Lab Job Objective: To assist in conducting physical, mechanical, and transit-related testing of furniture and packaging materials, ensuring compliance with internal specifications and international quality standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Sample Handling & Preparation Receive furniture and packaging material samples for testing Assist in accurate measurement, conditioning, and placement of test items Record product dimensions, weight, and material details prior to testing 2. Test Execution Support in executing various transit simulation tests, such as: Vibration Test Drop Test Compression Test Incline Impact / Shock Test Conduct mechanical property tests on furniture, including: Load-bearing tests (static and dynamic) Joint strength testing Pull/push durability testing Follow test procedures in accordance with ASTM , ISTA , or customer-specific standards 3. Equipment Operation Operate lab testing equipment safely and responsibly (e.g., drop tester, vibration table, UTM, etc.) Promptly report any equipment calibration issues or maintenance needs to the Lab In-Charge 4. Data Recording & Reporting Accurately document observations, damages, and failure points during and after tests Maintain daily logs, checklists, and sample tracking sheets Assist in compiling basic test reports with relevant photos and test results 5. General Lab Support Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper organization of the laboratory Assist in arranging test setups for customer visits or internal/external audits Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality protocols Qualifications & Skills: Education: ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Packaging (preferred) Experience: 02 years in a QA/testing lab environment, preferably in furniture, packaging, or a related field Technical Skills: Basic understanding of furniture and packaging materials (wood, board, metal, foam, etc.) Proficient in using measuring instruments like measuring tape, vernier calipers, and weighing scales Basic computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word) Personal Attributes: Strong observation skills and attention to detail Discipline and adherence to protocols Willingness to learn and work hands-on in a testing environment Work Environment: Factory/plant-based laboratory environment Moderate manual handling and physical activity required May involve occasional support for field validation and shipment trials
