As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing work estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. It will be essential for you to maintain contact and relationships with private individuals and other organizations. Your role will involve identifying labor, material, and time requirements, as well as resolving discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. You will be expected to present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information and to prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Additionally, you will need to maintain a cost database by entering and backing up data and continually update your technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications. Your contribution to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed will be valuable. To excel in this role, you must possess strong analytic abilities, have a working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and word processing programs, and understand construction documents. It is crucial to be able to read and interpret blueprints, coordinate effectively, and work independently. Knowledge of Estimating Softwares such as Bluebeam, Planswift, and Applicad Roof Wizard will be advantageous. The ideal candidate for this position will hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and have at least 2 years of experience as an estimator with a strong understanding of Australian standards.
