Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Manager Sr. Manager Purchase to lead and oversee the procurement function for plastic components and raw materials, specifically within the automotive industry . The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in plastics procurement , vendor development, cost negotiation, and a strong network within the plastics and polymer supply chain. Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Sourcing: Lead end-to-end procurement of plastic raw materials, resins, polymers, and molded components . Develop and execute effective sourcing strategies aligned with company goals and cost objectives. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery. Ensure timely procurement and inventory optimization while avoiding stockouts and overstocking. Vendor Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key domestic and international suppliers. Negotiate long-term contracts, pricing agreements, and credit terms to maximize value. Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic evaluations to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards. Cost Optimization: Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities through alternate sourcing, improved logistics, or supplier consolidation. Conduct detailed cost analysis and benchmarking to support negotiations. Quality & Compliance: Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure procurement meets company and regulatory standards. Ensure adherence to ISO/TS standards and maintain relevant documentation for audits. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Design, Quality, and R&D teams to understand material requirements and specifications. Support NPD (New Product Development) projects with timely sourcing and supplier alignment. Team Leadership & Reporting: Lead a team of buyers/purchase executives, ensuring team development and performance. Report key procurement KPIs and analytics to senior management on a monthly/quarterly basis. Required Skills & Competencies: Deep domain knowledge of plastics, polymers, injection molding components , and suppliers. Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP Oracle similar). Knowledge of global sourcing, customs, and import/export procedures is a plus. High integrity and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Educational Qualifications: Graduate in Engineering Science (preferably in Polymer, Chemical, or Mechanical streams). MBA PG Diploma in Supply Chain or Materials Management will be preferred. Preferred Candidate Profile: 10-15 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in the automotive plastics industry . Proven track record of cost control, vendor development, and strategic sourcing. This is a position with critical responsibilities in the procurement of technical plastic components. The role involves exploring new product developments from Appliances ODM’s, market know how of new product developments, actively initiating VA/VE activities, Benchmarking activities, End to End completion of product development activities, Effective co-ordinating with ODM’s for product development, conducting product testing, finding possible causes of failure & taking actions, Root Cause Analysis, Defective Analysis and generating technical reports at all stages. The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and a keen interest in product design, innovation & new developments. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development and execution of new product ideas from concept to launch. Conduct performance and functional product testing as per Quality Requirements. Record test data, prepare testing documentation, and summarize findings in detailed reports. Maintain accurate product documentation, technical specifications, and testing formats. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Purchase, Quality, and Marketing) during product development stages. Support product benchmarking and competitor analysis activities. Work on improvements of existing products based on feedback and field observations. Use MS Excel for data analysis and reporting, and PowerPoint for presentations. Maintain proper filing of testing reports, samples, and product records. Sourcing & Supplier Management: Managed global and local sourcing with suppliers ,product development, trials, and inspections. Focused on Bending Machine and tool development. Project Development & Coordination • Created BOM, identified parts, and made make-or-buy decisions in collaboration with management. • Developed process flow diagrams and estimated manpower requirements for production stages. • Coordinated product cost estimation and negotiations with stakeholders. • Arranged components for in-house manufacturing and maintained supplier relationships, ensuring quality standards. Technical & Documentation • Prepared project documents following PPAP requirements and technical specification sheets. • Conducted root cause analysis for process or product failures. • Prepared technical BOMs, verified samples (N10, N100), and managed sample preparation processes. Product & Line Development • Applied technical knowledge in OTG, Air Fryer, Induction Cooktop, kitchen chimneys, hand blenders, and other appliances. • Participated in line and fixture development, managing end-to-end processes for product quality and efficiency. • Managed packaging development Key Skills Required: Basic knowledge of MS Excel , Word , and PowerPoint Strong attention to detail and problem-solving approach Good communication and coordination skills Understanding of basic product functionality and testing methods Ability to work with tools and equipment (as per product category) Qualifications & Experience: Education: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or relevant stream Experience: 5–8 years in a product development & testing role Preferred Traits: Eagerness to learn and grow in a product-focused environment Exposure to consumer products/home appliances (preferred) Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
