In this role within the Computational Signal Infrastructure Group at Volvo Group, located in Bangalore, you will be part of a team of highly motivated engineers dedicated to designing, developing, and maintaining hardware, physical architecture, functional schematics, and communication technologies for Embedded Systems. You will work on creating detailed functional concepts, functional schematics, and hardware modeling for the Electrical System from the concept stage. Your responsibilities will include developing electrical design concepts, maintaining functional schematics, leading power management concepts, performing wire size calculations, managing hardware model structures, and actively participating in the enhancement of methods and processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the development of scalable and affordable systems. To succeed in this role, you should have 4 to 6 years of experience in designing and developing vehicle schematics and simulations. You must possess a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, design tools, and simulation tools. Additionally, knowledge of power management systems, hardware interfaces, and vehicle regulations is essential. Strong communication skills in English are mandatory for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will hold a BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with a solid background in automotive electrical domain. You should demonstrate technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. Location : Bangalore Roles & Responsibilities: This ExcelHer role within the CSI group shall be in the Electrical System Design team working on designing of the Electrical System right from the concept stage. In creating detailed functional concepts, functional schematics and Hardware modeling. Functional schematic involves development and documentation of the fuse, relay and wire dimensioning. You will also be involved in reviewing the functional concepts and supporting verification (vehicle and test Benches). Some of the main roles and responsibilities shall include the following: Develop the Electrical design concepts, Create and maintain the functional schematics, Take lead in power management concepts, Be responsible for wire size calculations, Perform load balance at system level, Create hardware model management structure, Actively participate in development, enhancement of methods and processes. Skills Required: Mandatory Skill Sets: 4 to 6 years of experience in design and development of Vehicle Schematics and its simulation. Should have very good understanding about the complete automotive electrical systems. Should have a good knowledge in designing the schematics for Vehicle End to End functions. Good Knowledge of Electrical design tools such as Saber or any other similar tools. Hands on experience in Schematics simulation tools for fuse rating, wire size calculations, etc., would be an added advantage. Should have knowledge in selection of fuse, relay, wire size values etc of the schematics designed. Should have awareness on the software development, ECU topologies, vehicle schematics, power distribution & grounding topologies. Strong knowledge on Hardware Interfaces with electrical / components. Should have Team and cross functional work abilities. Good communication skills (written and verbal) in English is Mandatory. Secondary Skill Sets: Should have a good knowledge on vehicle electrical charge balance study. Should have a good knowledge on power management system (starting, charging, and protection & distribution) influence for adding electrical loads in the vehicle. Familiarity with toolchains like JIRA, Confluence and other PLM tools is a merit. Working Knowledge on Internal Combustion Engine, Battery Electric Vehicle and Hybrid Electric vehicles. Knowledge on current and upcoming vehicle regulations and emission norms. Working Knowledge on SFMEA and other quality tools. Education & Experience Required: BE/B.Tech., ME/M.Tech in Electrical-, Electronics Engg (or similar) with 4 to 6 years or more of experience in Automotive Electrical domain. Automotive engineering knowledge along with strong Electrical\Electronics engineering knowledge. Solid Tshaped profile with definable expert knowledge within broadbased allround toolkit. Clear articulation of how he/she is creating value to the respective TD/BA beyond their part of the organization. Technical Learning, Action Oriented & Learning on the fly. Multi-tasking, Priority setting, Experience in cross functional management, Strong demonstrated self- managed learning
