The role requires a deep understanding of vehicle behavior, dynamics tuning, and coordination across cross-functional teams to deliver superior driving performance and customer experience across all platforms. Key Responsibilities: Define and own vehicle dynamics performance targets including ride comfort, handling, steering response, braking, and stability for all vehicle programs. Lead the design, development, and tuning of suspension systems, steering geometry, damping systems, and chassis control features (e.g., ESC, ABS, torque vectoring, etc.). Manage physical testing and subjective evaluations (ride & handling, limit handling, NVH, etc.) at proving grounds, labs, and international test facilities. Oversee the integration and tuning of active systems such as ESC, EPAS, air suspension, dampers, and 4WS in collaboration with system suppliers. Use simulation tools (e.g., CarSim, ADAMS, Simpack, MATLAB) to predict and optimize vehicle behavior and support early-phase development. Coordinate with cross-functional teams: platform engineering, powertrain, body, electronics, and software to ensure dynamics integration. Mentor and guide vehicle dynamics engineers; review their tuning and testing outputs. Work closely with product planning and marketing teams to align dynamics characteristics with brand DNA and customer expectations. Support prototype build reviews, test planning, and supplier development processes. Ensure compliance with regulatory safety standards and manage risk in dynamics-related failure modes (e.g., understeer, rollover, braking stability). Key Competency: Proven expertise in ride & handling tuning, suspension kinematics, and chassis system integration. Strong understanding of both subjective evaluation (driver feedback) and objective data analysis (instrumented testing). Proficient in using tools like CarSim, ADAMS, MATLAB, MoTec, Racelogic, CAN tools (CANalyzer, CANape). Experience working with ESC, EPS/EPAS, ABS, brake-by-wire, and active suspension systems. Excellent communication, presentation, and technical documentation skills. Valid driver’s license; high-performance/test driver certification is a plus.
