Roles and Responsibilities System and Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and server applications. Monitor server performance, conduct regular maintenance, and ensure optimal system availability. Perform system backups and disaster recovery procedures. Network Management: Set up, configure, and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.). Ensure network security, performance, and reliability. Troubleshoot network-related issues and resolve connectivity problems. Security and Compliance: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Implement and maintain security protocols, such as firewalls, encryption, and anti-virus solutions. Regularly update software and systems to protect against security vulnerabilities. Perform security audits and ensure compliance with industry standards. Technical Support: Provide technical support to employees and resolve hardware and software issues. Respond to system alerts and resolve issues promptly. Maintain IT documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and user guides. Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts for automation of routine tasks (e.g., backups, monitoring, and updates). Create and maintain tools to streamline system management and improve efficiency. Collaboration: Work with other IT staff and departments to support projects and system upgrades. Collaborate with third-party vendors for hardware/software support, purchasing, and service.
