Responsibilities: The selected candidate is expected to carry out following activities: Concept Design of Ships - Prepare general arrangement for various types of vessels, perform basic naval architectural calculations of vessel sizing, lines plan development, resistance & powering, bollard pull calculations, propeller design, midship section, steel MTO and lightship weight estimation. Preparation of Statutory Plans including Fire Control Plan, Life Saving Appliances Plan, Crew Accommodation Plan, Towing Plan, GMDSS Plan, Tonnage Computation Plan etc. The candidate is also expected to assist in Basic Design of Ships- Involve in preparation of basic structural drawings and calculations. Prepare intact stability booklet for vessels, including stability calculations. Qualification: BE / B. Tech in Naval Architecture Desired profile of the candidate: Ideal candidate has up to 2-4 years experience working for a design consultancy in the Basic Design dept, involved in concept/basic design of various types of vessels. Exposure to different types of commercial vessels and/or innovative design concepts advantageous.
The responsibility will include: 1. Understanding the design requirement of a conversion/retrofit/new build job scope from the client. 2. Segregate the job scope into various departments such as Concept Design, Stability Assessment, Structure Design, Basic Machinery Design, and Detailed Design (Structures, Piping, Outfitting). 3. Allocate the job to each department in discussion with team leads at the start of the project as well as weekly basis. 4. Monitor the health of the project in terms of quality, technical correctness, schedule, manhours, etc. It is required the candidate should know Naval Architectural principles and working knowledge of the Ship s machinery and piping system and ability to learn. The work will involve regular interaction with internal design teams, clients, class, regulatory bodies, shipyards, and owners. A good communication skill and good technical knowledge is desired. Project Coordination Understanding client requirements and Job scope preparation. Project scheduling & monitoring. Lead design team till project completion. Job Description / Responsibilities : To independently handle Piping and equipment Modelling responsibilities of specific project for various marine systems using various 3D software like Cadmatic. Preparing of 3D design, Equipment Layout , piping layout, piping Isometric, Piping Support design, Clash checking , MTO generation To ensure all design work is safe and compliance with international codes & standards and overall technical integrity of project is maintained as per project specification. To participate and provide vital 3D-Model review, constructability review and value engineering reviews. To ensure all piping engineering work on the projects assigned is carried out within established budgets and schedules. To provide all necessary piping assistance during construction, commissioning and start up phases by resolving piping related site technical queries on immediate basis. Good knowledge of Offshore & Marine Piping Systems. Good knowledge of classification society rules to carry out detail design piping work is essential. Good knowledge of international codes & standards such as ASME/JIS/ DNV/ ASTM is essential. Sometimes carry out Cable tray and HVAC 3D modeling and drawings using any 3D software mentioned above. Qualification : B.E/B.Tech Mechanical Engineer or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in Engineering design of piping systems of Marine/offshore field. Advance Diploma in Piping design is preferred. Desired profile of the candidate : Must have good knowledge in design & modelling of pipe and equipment modeling in software like Cadmatic. Shipcon/FORAN/Plant 3D/Aveva E3D/ Aveva Marine is preferred. Good knowledge of piping detailed /production drawings such as piping isometrics , piping support fabrication drawings, MTOs, Piping layouts is must Good Knowledge in Marine & Offshore field Good analytical, planning and reporting skills Fluent in English (spoken and written) To independently handle piping engineering responsibilities of specific project. To co-ordinate with other disciplines such as Mechanical equipment, Electrical, Structural and Instrumentation in subject to Interface issues.
