The Lead Engineer position at Fontaine Specialized in Bangalore requires a candidate with a B.E./B.Tech./M.E/M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 6-10 years of experience, with at least 2 years of experience in leading teams and projects. Reporting to the Project Lead, this role involves managing projects and teams while handling individual deliverables. The role is predominantly focused on engineering activities such as detailed design, analytical calculations, tolerance stack-ups, creating manufacturing drawings, and reviewing FEA reports for Heavy Haul and Specialized Trailers. Key Responsibilities / Functions: - Execute and lead sustaining engineering projects, including designing, drawing creation, BOM restructuring, and product roll-out activities. - Create 3D models and engineering drawings using NX CAD software for Trailers. - Review designs, 3D models, and drawings to ensure they meet fit, form, and function requirements. - Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to product development programs. - Drive value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) by modularizing components based on analysis of commodity categories or supplier strategies. - Identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose design modifications for existing product lines. - Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are achieved. - Stay updated with the latest research and technology breakthroughs in sheet metal forming, welding, and casting processes. - Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities by attending training programs, workshops, and conferences. - Mentor trainee engineers and junior engineers on various technical skills as part of the lead role.,
