As a Frontend Developer , you will play a pivotal role in delivering industry-leading web applications within a dynamic E-Commerce environment . You will be working collaboratively within an established, cross-functional team to build responsive, high-performance, and scalable user interfaces that deliver an excellent customer journey across all platforms. Utilizing modern JavaScript frameworks such as React , AngularJS , and Node.js , and collaborating closely with Java backend developers , you will ensure seamless integration and consistent end-to-end functionality. You will work with stakeholders across the business to ensure that all changes and system improvements meet quality, performance, and business requirements. The successful candidate will be part of a motivated and agile team , contributing to all phases of the development process in alignment with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and company best practices and standards. Roles and Responsibilities Demonstrate a strong passion for modern frontend technologies and continuously seek to improve both personal and team performance through knowledge sharing and innovation. Design and develop the frontend of web-based applications using the latest techniques and technologies including React , AngularJS , Node.js , HTML5, and CSS3. Build full customer-facing experiences such as responsive websites , landing pages , and dynamic user journeys , with an emphasis on usability and performance. Collaborate effectively in Agile, cross-functional teams , participating in daily SCRUMs, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Liaise closely with backend developers (Java), UI/UX designers, QA testers, SEO specialists, and implementation teams to ensure end-to-end product quality. Translate customer requirements and UX designs into efficient, user-friendly, and accessible solutions. Actively contribute to bug fixing , UI debugging , and performance optimization efforts across multiple browsers and devices. Stay current with emerging technologies , frontend frameworks, and development practices; proactively recommend tools or enhancements when appropriate. Maintain flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving development environment . Embrace and promote design system consistency , accessibility standards (WCAG), and clean code principles. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development. Certifications in Java, React, AWS, or Azure, Micro Services (preferred but not mandatory). Essential Criteria Strong commercial experience with HTML5 , CSS3 , Vanilla JavaScript , and modern libraries such as React , Angular , Vue , and jQuery . Practical experience in Node.js for frontend build tools or server-side rendering (e.g., Next.js , Gatsby ). Proven ability to deliver responsive web applications optimized for cross-browser and cross-device performance. Competence using developer tools and browser consoles for debugging, profiling, and fine-tuning frontend code. Solid understanding of clean coding principles , web standards , usability , UX/UI design , and customer journey optimization . Awareness and implementation of SEO best practices relevant to client-side applications. Knowledge of website performance optimization , including lazy loading, bundling, caching, and image optimization. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage workloads in a fast-paced Agile environment. Awareness of frontend security considerations , such as XSS, CSRF, and content security policies. 4 to 10 years of Experience in FrontEnd Technologies • Hands-on knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript • Hands-on experience working with Object Oriented JavaScript (OOJS), JavaScript - and practical uses in building complex interactive experiences, primarily with ECMAScript 2015+. You should be up to date with new specifications (different stages), and, using transpilers like Babel to use features from all stages • Good understanding of creational and structural design patterns in JavaScript • Experience working with Single Page Applications (SPA) with universal rendering capabilities. • Good understanding of React.js, and its core principles - lifecycle methods, virtual DOM, etc. • Understanding of one-way data flow and the Flux architecture. • Understanding of stateful (container) vs stateless (presentational) components and how to break down the application page into components • Core understanding of how Reacts state management works out of the box. • Understanding of different CSS architectures that go hand-in-hand with React.js application development. Pros and cons of component-level CSS vs global and where to apply each • Thorough understanding of Webpack bundler (version 2+). • Good understanding of the Web Components standard. • Hands-on experience with building Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) on any framework. • Hands-on experience with Frontend Performance Optimization especially in a React application with respect to resource loading strategy, and CPU/Memory profiling on the browser. • Hands-on experience with test-driven development using Jest or equivalent. Familiar with snapshot testing, and code coverage. Experience working with utilities like Enzyme • Experience using fluid grids, and building responsive/adaptive websites using Bootstrap, etc. • Understanding SEO and accessibility and making it part of the development workflow
