As the Business Development Manager (BDM) for Chemicals, your primary focus will be to drive business growth within the Chemical sector customers. Your responsibilities will include identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities, expanding the client base, and establishing DP World as a preferred partner in the industry. You will work towards achieving revenue targets in close coordination with the Pre-Sales, BU sales, and Post Sales Team, ensuring both acquisition and retention of revenue through effective sales strategies. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients in the sector/sub-sector will be crucial. You will need to understand their business objectives, challenges, and pain points to provide customized logistics solutions that meet their specific requirements and add value to their operations. Contract negotiations and collaboration with internal teams such as operations, finance, marketing, and customer service will be essential for seamless execution of business development strategies and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will lead strategic initiatives such as customer surveys, account planning, and sector scorecard maintenance to drive client improvement year over year. Your role will also involve ensuring CRM compliance and effectiveness, as well as developing a high-performance service culture within the team. To be successful in this role, you should have a proven track record in the logistics industry with over 10 years of experience in India. Sales and key account management experience, particularly in developing and growing new key accounts within the Chemical sector, will be beneficial. Expertise in logistics within the Chemical sub-sectors, including designing and implementing solutions to customer problems, is required. Experience across the entire logistics value chain, including Express, FTL transportation, warehousing, and value-added services, will be valuable. Your stakeholders will include internal teams from all business and functional verticals, as well as external parties such as customers and major competitors. A minimum of a post-graduation degree in Marketing/Sales or Logistics/Supply Chain is required, along with certifications relevant to the Chemical sector. Overall, 10+ years of experience in the logistics industry and 7-10 years of industry-specific experience are preferred for this role.,
