Utility Worker/ Kitchen Steward

About Us

We run a cozy café with an attached hostel in Tapovan, Rishikesh, where travelers, locals, and backpackers come together over good food and good vibes. Our space focuses on quality, cleanliness, community, and smooth day-to-day operations. We’re looking for a Utility Worker / Kitchen Steward who can support the kitchen team and help maintain high standards of hygiene and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in basic food preparation (washing, chopping, plating support).
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, storage areas, and dishwashing stations.
• Wash utensils, crockery, and kitchen equipment properly and on time.
• Ensure kitchen hygiene standards are followed at all times.
• Support chefs and cooks during service hours.
• Help in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies.
• Assist during special events, retreats, and gatherings at the property.
• Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and maintain overall order.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen, café, restaurant, or hostel is preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
• Physically fit and able to handle standing and manual tasks.
• Reliable, disciplined, and willing to learn.
• Friendly attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
