As a mechanical fitter, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals. Your duties will also include assembling and installing mechanical components and machinery, as well as performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems. You will need to identify faulty components and carry out necessary repairs or replacements using tools such as grinders, welding equipment, and machining tools. Collaboration with other trades like electricians, welders, and fabricators will be a key aspect of your role. Ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime are essential tasks. Additionally, you will assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery while keeping work areas clean and organized. The ideal candidate for this position must have proven experience as a mechanical fitter or in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing, mining, construction, or heavy industry. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, physical fitness, and the capacity to work in confined spaces or at heights are essential requirements. The qualifications and experience needed include ITI/Diploma/B.E in any specialization, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Fabrication Fitting for MS/SS tanks and vessels.
