Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Senior to join our expanding U.S. Tax Preparation and Compliance team. The ideal candidate will hold an active Enrolled Agent (EA) license and have a strong background in preparing and reviewing U.S. individual, partnership, and S-corporation returns (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S).
This role focuses on high-quality tax preparation, accuracy, and efficiency with opportunities to learn IRS representation basics (Installment Agreements, Offer in Compromise, and client correspondence) as part of professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation & Compliance
- Prepare and review U.S. Federal and State tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and S corporations.
- Ensure accurate preparation and filing in compliance with IRS and state tax regulations.
- Conduct detailed reviews of supporting documentation, financial statements, and workpapers.
- Research and resolve tax-related queries or discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain awareness of IRS updates and form changes to ensure correct mapping and filing.
Quality Review & Support
- Review the work of junior associates to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Provide feedback, mentoring, and support on return accuracy and best practices.
- Maintain quality control and meet internal review deadlines during peak seasons.
Technical Development
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve workflow, documentation, and process consistency.
- Participate in ongoing tax training programs, including IRS representation fundamentals (taught internally).
- Contribute to the firms knowledge base through documentation and shared learning.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Enrolled Agent (EA) License Mandatory
(Active status required). Experience:
35 years of U.S. tax preparation experience. - Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120S.
- Working knowledge of State tax filings (multi-state exposure preferred).
- Familiarity with CCH Axcess, ProSystem FX, UltraTax, or Lacerte.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in tax computations.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and tax workpaper management.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Prior exposure to IRS correspondence or case documentation (training provided if none).
- Understanding of Schedule K-1 analysis and mapping.
- Experience with U.S. tax season cycles and remote collaboration with U.S. teams.
