Job overview This role focuses primarily on research deliverables but may also include editing other content such as internal communications, graphical content, or other multimedia content. The ideal candidate is a seasoned, thoughtful editor who brings a deep understanding of business language, content structure, and editorial quality. This role is for someone who goes beyond surface-level editing to significantly elevate the clarity, impact, and consistency of Everest Groups written content. As a Senior Business Editor, the candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of audience needs and editorial excellence and proactively guide team members, authors, and stakeholders to improve storytelling and uphold house style. The role demands both executional strength and mentorship. The successful candidate will possess excellent editorial judgment, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments, working with minimal supervision while contributing meaningfully to the development of team capability and editorial reputation. Strong familiarity with digital tools, including AI-powered assistants such as ChatGPT, is important for success in this role. Key responsibilities Edit text for clarity, conciseness, readability, logic, and adherence to Everest Groups written style guidelines Enhance the quality of written outputs by rewriting or restructuring content, where needed, to improve reader engagement and alignment with audience needs Provide actionable feedback to authors, helping improve the quality of writing across teams Review exhibits and graphics to ensure clarity, alignment with house style, and editorial consistency Serve as an expert resource on house style, branding, and editorial standards across stakeholders Mentor and guide team members and new editors on editorial best practices, house style, and communication strategies Conduct training sessions for the broader firm on writing, editing, and communication effectiveness Proactively engage with stakeholders to understand content objectives and influence editorial strategy for greater impact Work collaboratively with authors, analysts, the visual design team, and support teams to ensure high-quality deliverables Contribute to process improvements that enhance the efficiency and quality of editorial workflows Take ownership of multiple projects and deliver superior results under high editorial standards and tight deadlines Leverage digital tools, including AI-enabled platforms, to enhance editorial efficiency and output quality Skills Mastery of US English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation Strong grasp of content- and audience-centric editing Proficiency in applying and coaching others on house style, with a deep understanding of the Chicago Manual of Style Ability to coach others, especially those less comfortable with writing, on communicating effectively Ability to manage complex editorial challenges independently and solve problems with minimal oversight Clear and confident communication skills, including the ability to articulate editorial feedback and influence stakeholders Demonstrated success managing multiple complex projects independently, with strong time management and prioritization skills Advanced Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills Thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving/shifting priorities Good familiarity with digital tools, including AI-enabled writing support like ChatGPT. Education and experience 10+ years of business editing or copy editing experience Prior experience in editing for research, consulting, or global professional services firms is preferred Postgraduate degree in any discipline from a reputed institution Everest Group complies with the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and other data protection regulations.
