US Corporate Tax State Returns - Advanced Analyst

As a Senior/Assistant Manager in the FSO- SALT BCMI team at EY, you will play a crucial role in developing, mentoring, and supervising Analysts and Advanced Analysts. Your responsibilities will include acting as a counselor for team members, proactively recognizing issues and recommending solutions, diversifying client load, and fostering collaboration within the team. You will be expected to demonstrate basic presentation and public speaking skills, actively participate in meetings, and communicate effectively in various situations, such as face-to-face, phone, and email interactions. In addition to these responsibilities, you will focus on developing specific competencies related to identifying opportunities for process improvement, utilizing tax methodologies, tools, and technology, encouraging critical thinking, and providing constructive feedback to team members. You will be responsible for maintaining a positive team environment, ensuring timely completion of high-quality work, and building strong relationships with both internal professionals and clients. The ideal candidate for this role should have 3-5 years of experience in US state and local taxes, state income and franchise taxes, as well as experience in the preparation and review of state corporate tax returns. Proficiency in tax research tools such as CCH, Checkpoint, BNA, and Lexis Nexis, and knowledge of tax technology tools like Corp Tax, OneSource, Go Systems, Premium-Pro, and Wings are essential for this position. Qualifications for this role include a graduate or post-graduate degree in Finance, with at least 6 months of experience for staff-level positions and 3-5 years of experience for senior/Assistant Manager levels in a similar field.
