Urgent Hiring For Physical Education Teacher - VIS School Residential

Job Purpose:

To design and deliver structured physical education programs that promote fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, and holistic development of students in a residential setting, while also contributing to their overall well-being, guidance, and life skills outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic & Sports Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate PE lessons as per school/board as applicable.
• Train students in various sports, athletics, fitness routines, and recreational activities.
• Identify and mentor students with special aptitude for inter-school, state, or national-level sports competitions.
• Organize annual sports events, inter-house tournaments, and physical fitness assessments.
• Ensure proper maintenance, safety, and utilization of sports equipment and facilities.

Residential & Pastoral Care Responsibilities

• Supervise students during sports, morning PT, yoga, and fitness sessions.
• Participate in house activities, mentoring, and discipline within the hostel/residential environment.
• Act as a role model, fostering a healthy lifestyle, teamwork, respect, and discipline.
• Provide guidance on nutrition, personal health, and overall wellness.
• Monitor students physical and emotional well-being and report concerns to the House Parent/Resident Staff/Principal.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safety protocols during all sports and physical activities.
• Provide immediate first aid and coordinate medical assistance during injuries.
• Maintain discipline and encourage fair play, inclusivity, and gender sensitivity in all activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors / Masters degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed) or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a residential school environment (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of multiple sports, physical fitness training, and modern coaching techniques.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to handle adolescent issues with patience and sensitivity.
• First Aid / CPR certification (preferred).

• Residential school campus (classrooms, playgrounds, gymnasium, hostel blocks).
• Early morning, evening, and weekend involvement for sports training and residential duties.
• Active participation in school functions, excursions, and inter-school competitions.
