Upholstery Stitching Specialist (Chair and Sofa Focus)

Job Summary:

We are looking for 2 experienced Upholstery Stitching Specialists to join our Kakkanad workshop. This is a workshop-centric role, focusing on the meticulous stitching and restoration of upholstery for office chairs and sofas. While the work is primarily facility-based, candidates must be prepared for occasional travel to client sites across Kerala and South India for large-scale on-site refurbishing or fitting projects.

Responsibilities:

• Stitching and Cutting: Expertly cut, prepare, and stitch various materials (fabric, leatherette) required for re-upholstery projects.
• Upholstery Application: Fit stitched covers onto furniture frames, ensuring a tight, professional finish.
• Workshop Maintenance: Maintain the stitching machines and tools in good working order within the workshop.
• Quality Control: Ensure the stitching and material quality meet the company’s high standards for durability and appearance.
• Occasional On-Site Support: Be available for occasional travel to client locations (often requiring multi-day trips across Kerala and South India) to assist with large-scale on-site re-upholstery or fitting projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Minimum of [3-5 years] of hands-on experience in industrial stitching or upholstery, specifically with furniture.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated skill in operating industrial sewing machines and knowledge of various stitching techniques.
• Work Location & Travel: Must be willing to work primarily in the Kakkanad workshop but must be available for occasional out-of-station travel for specific project needs.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail for pattern matching and achieving precise, high-quality seams.
• Material Knowledge: Familiarity with different types of upholstery fabrics and materials.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹8,302.74 - ₹70,089.44 per month
