Upaya is seeking a full-time Analyst / Senior Analyst to join its Investments Portfolio team in Bangalore, India. This role will be central to sourcing, evaluating, investing and growing impact-first investments in India. The candidate will work closely with the investment team and portfolio companies to ensure alignment with Upaya s goals of financial sustainability and lasting social impact. This role requires strong financial acumen, analytical thinking, and a passion for supporting early-stage entrepreneurs. Responsibilities: Identify promising early-stage enterprises aligned with Upaya s mission through proactive sourcing, networking, and partnerships. Conduct financial, operational, and impact due diligence, including deep dives into market, product, team, and scalability. Design key indicators that best capture the financial and social performance of Upayas portfolio, conduct real-time analysis, and assist with visualization and external reporting when needed Review financial statements of portfolio partners and highlight key performance metrics and trends across categories Qualifications: A MBA or Masters in Finance, Accounting and/or any other post-graduate finance degree is preferred but not mandatory. Must demonstrate proficiency in financial statement analysis, financial modelling etc Skills: 1-3 years of post-qualification work experience as a finance professional in an investment fund/ investment banking/ consulting/ company. Excellent analytical and organization skills. Competence in MS Office is required with a high level of proficiency in MS Excel; experience with Google Sheets is a plus. Strong relationship building skills, especially with regards to working closely with early-stage entrepreneurs. The role combines relationship management, market research, program development, and high-quality documentation to strengthen Upaya s visibility, partnerships, and fundraising pipeline. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, systems thinker, and proactive networker passionate about leveraging partnerships for social impact. Responsibilities: 1. Institutional Partnerships Strategy & Management Support the design and execution of Upaya s institutional partnerships and fundraising strategy across programs. Manage existing donor and partner relationships, ensuring consistent communication, reporting, and stewardship. Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities with foundations, corporates, and multilateral institutions aligned with Upaya s mission. 2. Networking and Advocacy Represent Upaya in external forums, conferences, and ecosystem events to build visibility and forge strategic alliances. Collaborate with communications and leadership teams to strengthen Upaya s positioning in the inclusive jobs and impact investing ecosystem. Build and maintain a network of key stakeholders, including funders, ecosystem enablers, and sectoral alliances. 3. Market Research and Program Development Analyze market and ecosystem trends to identify partnership opportunities and thematic priorities. We are seeking a dynamic, self-starter to drive the programs activities and partner management across multiple programs. This exciting opportunity involves working on scouting, selections and program implementation. You ll also have an opportunity to learn how to design capacity building programs and work with social businesses. This position involves coordinating with various internal and external program partners and other stakeholders to meet the desired outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Building a strong pipeline of businesses as per program theme or in alignment with Upaya s focus areas Identifying and driving outreach efforts with relevant ecosystem partners Coordinating with the Communications team to develop collaterals and outreach documents Exploring new channels and avenues for outreach and brand visibility amongst entrepreneurs, investors and funders End-to-end delivery of the selections cycle Coordinate with the internal team and applicants as required Ensure seamless execution of program(s) in alignment with defined objectives and outcomes Plan and deliver workshops and sessions through the course of the program.
