Job Description

We are looking for a talented Gameplay and Animation Programmer to help build responsive character systems, fluid animations, and engaging gameplay interactions. You will work closely with animators, designers, and technical teams to create high-quality animation-driven gameplay features while ensuring performance and stability.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about character feel, animation technology, and gameplay systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and refine character gameplay systems, including locomotion, traversal, and animation-driven mechanics.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize animation systems using Unreal Engine's Animation Blueprints, AnimGraph, and State Machines.
  • Collaborate closely with animators and designers to ensure seamless integration of animation assets and gameplay features.
  • Debug and optimize animation and gameplay systems to maintain performance across platforms.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, maintainable, and clean code architecture.
  • Assist in documentation of animation systems, gameplay workflows, and best practices.
  • Contribute to sprint planning and deliverables within an agile development process.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in C++.
  • Solid understanding of 3D math, data structures, algorithms, and animation fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine.
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine's Animation Blueprints, AnimGraph, and Animation State Machines.
  • Experience developing locomotion and traversal systems.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Perforce, or equivalent).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially with animators and designers.
  • A good eye for animation quality, timing, and character feel.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work across multiple systems when required.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of Maya or other animation creation tools.
  • Interest in modern animation techniques and advancements in real-time animation systems.
  • Experience building or supporting complex character animation pipelines.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Professional experience as a Programmer working on gameplay, character systems, or animation systems in the games industry.
