About the Role We are looking for an experienced Site Head to lead our Cake Oven maintenance operations in Maharashtra. This is a senior on-site leadership position responsible for the smooth execution of all maintenance, repair, and operational activities. You will manage a team of \~100 workforce, including fitters, welders, riggers, and operators, as well as oversee the operation and maintenance of key material handling equipment such as forklifts and Farhana cranes. Key Responsibilities ✅ Lead and supervise daily maintenance activities of the Cake Oven at the steel plant. ✅ Plan & execute preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. ✅ Manage and guide a team of \~100 personnel, including fitters, welders, riggers, and operators. ✅ Ensure proper utilization and upkeep of MHEs and site tools. ✅ Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and statutory compliance at the site. ✅ Coordinate with plant management and other departments for smooth operations. ✅ Monitor workforce productivity and resolve operational challenges effectively. ✅ Maintain records of maintenance activities, workforce deployment, and equipment performance. Qualifications & Skills 🎓 Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 🛠️ Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in steel plants or heavy industries, preferably with exposure to cake ovens or similar operations. 👥 Proven experience managing large teams of technicians and equipment operators. 🚧 Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, rigging, welding, and material handling equipment. ⚙️ Good understanding of safety standards and statutory compliance in an industrial environment. 💬 Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient production processes, optimize resource utilization, and uphold high safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate should possess previous relevant experience in a similar role. Key Responsibilities: - Manage end-to-end metal recovery processes encompassing Hydro, Pyro, Cadmium, Cobalt, Zinc, and Copper recovery. - Implement best practices to enhance production efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce downtime through process optimization. - Ensure all production activities adhere to regulatory, environmental, and safety standards to maintain quality and compliance. - Lead and mentor the production team to drive operational excellence and foster team leadership. - Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure seamless plant operations, focusing on maintenance and reliability. - Monitor budgets and devise cost-effective strategies to improve processes for effective cost control. - Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and best practices, emphasizing safety and environmental compliance.
