As the Head of Technical Department - Drones, you will oversee the end-to-end engineering and manufacturing operations, encompassing Research & Development, Production, and Quality Assurance. This leadership position is crucial for developing cutting-edge UAV systems, drone assembly, and integrating electronics and embedded systems. If you are passionate about drone technology, proficient with flight controllers and hardware systems, and capable of managing cross-functional engineering teams, we are eager to connect with you. Your key responsibilities will include leading the R&D team in designing and developing drone hardware and software, supervising the development of flight controllers and communication modules, ensuring functional integration of embedded systems and onboard components, driving prototyping, performance testing, and technology innovation. You will also oversee drone manufacturing and assembly line setup, implement scalable and cost-effective production processes, collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams for component sourcing, and ensure timely production with minimal defects. Additionally, you will define and enforce quality standards, implement QA processes, ensure compliance with relevant UAV industry regulations, and lead hardware testing, software validation, and documentation processes. Managing technical teams across R&D, production, and QA, coordinating project timelines, fostering collaboration, and maintaining documentation for continuous improvement are also part of your responsibilities. To qualify for this role, you should have a B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Robotics, or a related field, with 8-15 years of experience in drone technology, UAV systems, or electronics hardware roles, including at least 4 years in a leadership position. Your experience should demonstrate expertise in drone system design, embedded hardware/software, and production oversight. Strong technical understanding of UAV components and integration, embedded firmware, power electronics, CAD tools, and flight controllers is required. Hands-on experience with flight controllers, navigation systems, GPS modules, telemetry, and exposure to IoT, AI, or computer vision integration in drones are considered advantageous. Prior experience in a drone startup or consumer tech brand and familiarity with aviation safety norms and UAV licensing requirements are also nice-to-haves for this role.
