As a Technician in Electrical or Electronics (ITI) at Drones Tech Lab, a pioneer in drone manufacturing and UAV services based in Kolkata, West Bengal, you will be an integral part of our team dedicated to developing cutting-edge solutions for mission-critical operations across India. You will have the opportunity to work on assembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic and electrical subsystems for UAVs, ensuring their reliability and readiness for field deployments and operational missions. Your responsibilities will include performing electrical wiring, crimping, soldering, and harness assembly for fixed-wing UAVs, as well as installing, testing, and troubleshooting components such as ESCs, power modules, batteries, servos, and telemetry units. You will collaborate with avionics, software, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration, and conduct both preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical subsystems. Additionally, you will support field activities such as pre-flight checks, launch, recovery, and electrical diagnostics, while maintaining high standards of safety, documentation, and workmanship. To qualify for this role, you must have an ITI in Electrical or Electronics along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in UAV or aircraft electrical systems. Proficiency in using electrical hand tools, a strong understanding of battery systems, servo wiring, power distribution, and ESCs, as well as familiarity with communication protocols like UART, I2C, and SPI are essential. Furthermore, you should be adept at reading and working from wiring schematics and technical documents, and possess solid troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills, especially during field operations. Desirable skills and interests for this position include experience in UAV integration and flight trials, familiarity with RC transmitters, telemetry units, and GCS tools like QGroundControl or Mission Planner, as well as a passion for aviation, UAVs, and emerging drone technologies. A willingness to travel and support mission deployments in remote or challenging environments is also beneficial. You will be joining Drones Tech Lab as an Integration & Testing Engineer, responsible for field testing the Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) products and providing system support. Your key duties involve integrating, testing, and validating R&D and new product development efforts. This includes developing flight test plans, preparing aircraft for flight, conducting flight tests, and supporting field-testing activities. Collaboration with the System Engineer & Product Development Engineering team is essential to advance products through field trials and client demonstrations. Your responsibilities will include integrating and configuring various flight components, ensuring communication across modules, performing ground testing, planning and executing system-level tests, assisting in firmware flashing and PID tuning, collaborating with cross-functional teams, maintaining logs and generating reports, ensuring adherence to standards, supporting flight teams, field testing, data logging, system diagnostics, managing flight test operations, coordinating with other engineering teams, conducting performance evaluations, product documentation, training material development, and providing end-user support. Qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Other applicable engineering field, a minimum of 2 years of experience in UAV integration or system testing, hands-on experience with UAV components and communication interfaces, familiarity with GCS tools, and competent use of diagnostic tools. Desirable skills include a comprehensive understanding of UAV systems, strong knowledge of aircraft dynamics, troubleshooting abilities, repair and maintenance skills, documentation proficiency, hands-on UAV assembly experience, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage tasks effectively. Key skills required for this position include UAV integration, ground testing, electrical wiring, embedded debugging, mission planning tools, flight controller setup, telemetry systems, firmware flashing, troubleshooting, multimeter use, and knowledge of communication interfaces.
