As a Mainframe Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for managing Mainframe infrastructure in an international customer environment. You should have a strong expertise in console operations, including handling hardware alerts, IPL Console, CICS, MQ, and DB2 related alerts. Your role will involve following written processes and procedures, as well as utilizing your knowledge of ITIL processes. Your key responsibilities will include performing system health checks, conducting IPL on all the LPARs during maintenance windows, troubleshooting during IPL, and responding to WTORs by referring to process documents. Additionally, you will be responsible for handling hardware-related issues by raising service requests with the hardware provider, managing resource contentions, and taking actions for alerts on the production system. You will also be involved in performing DR tests, monitoring batch jobs, and scheduling using TWS, OPC, and AJS scheduler. Furthermore, your role will require daily interaction with clients and different teams, as well as coordination with application teams for any issues during batch cycles. You will be responsible for creating new application jobs, scheduling them, and resolving issues such as abends, restarts, marking jobs complete, and canceling jobs through the OPC scheduler. Additionally, you may receive ad hoc requests to schedule specific jobs, applications, and periods in OPC.
