As a seasoned Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in SQL Server, you will join our IoT Software team to manage, optimize, and scale databases supporting massive volumes of machine-generated and telemetry data from connected devices. Your passion for data performance and experience in high-ingestion environments will be crucial in this fast-paced, innovation-driven role. Your responsibilities will include architecting, deploying, and maintaining SQL Server databases optimized for high-throughput, real-time IoT data ingestion and analytics. You will also perform advanced query tuning, index optimization, and partitioning to support time-series data and sensor data warehousing. Collaborating with data engineers, DevOps, and software developers, you will design scalable, high-performance data structures and ensure data quality, availability, and integrity across distributed and hybrid environments. Additionally, you will implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies, utilize monitoring tools, secure databases, ensure compliance with standards, maintain documentation, automate tasks, and continuously optimize database operations. You will also develop proofs of concept to validate design ideas and handle other duties as necessary. Requirements: - BA, BSc, or MSc in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline. - 5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA, ideally in IoT, telemetry, or data-intensive environments. - Deep understanding of SQL Server internals, query optimization, and performance tuning. - Expertise in high-volume, time-series, and sensor data ingestion and processing. - Strong T-SQL scripting skills, including stored procedures and advanced query constructs. - Experience with partitioning strategies, data archiving, and storage optimization for large datasets. - Familiarity with edge computing concepts, streaming technologies, or telemetry processing. - Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, particularly Azure SQL and IoT Hub. - Experience in HA/DR design, including clustering, replication, and Always On. Preferred Qualifications: - Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent. - Exposure to time-series databases or hybrid data architectures. - Experience integrating SQL Server with real-time data processing frameworks and IoT platforms. Working Conditions: This role involves working in a normal office environment within a geographically distributed (virtual) team. Extensive computer usage is required to complete assignments, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines is essential to excel in this role.,
