The role involves vendor management, negotiation, inventory coordination, and ensuring timely delivery of quality goods to support uninterrupted project execution. Key Responsibilities: Procurement Planning: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to identify material and equipment needs. Prepare and update procurement schedules based on project timelines. Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors. Maintain an approved vendor list and develop supplier relationships for cost efficiency and reliability. Purchasing Activities: Issue Purchase Orders (POs) based on approved requisitions. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to construction sites. Monitor market trends and prices to ensure cost-effective purchasing. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate procurement records, invoices, and delivery notes. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards. Inventory & Logistics Coordination: Work closely with storekeepers and logistics teams to track material movement. Address and resolve supply delays, material shortages, and quality issues. Cost Control & Budgeting: Assist in budget preparation by providing cost estimates for required materials. Monitor expenditures to avoid budget overruns. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong negotiation and communication skills Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment Familiarity with local and international suppliers Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software (e.g., Tally, SAP, ERP) Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or related field 2–5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing within the construction industry Understanding of procurement laws, tax norms, and regulatory requirements Working Conditions: Office-based with regular site visits May require extended working hours to meet project deadlines
