Job Description Position: AGM Engineering (NPD head for Automotive Tier 1 Proprietary engine system developer) Location: Pune Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical NPD Manager to lead the design and development of innovative engine systems and components for the automotive industry. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in engine design, a deep understanding of engineering principles, and proven leadership skills. This role will be crucial in driving product innovation, ensuring timely delivery, and meeting challenging customer requirements. Responsibilities: 1. Expertise in Automotive Intake/Exhaust/ Heat Exchanger Systems: NPD head will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of automotive Intake, exhaust, heat exchanger systems, including radiators, intercoolers, oil coolers, charge air coolers, EGR /SCR/ Muffler & Exhaust assembly. They should possess in-depth knowledge of the hardware associated with any of the above systems. 2. Design and Development: The incumbent will be responsible for hands-on design and development of heat exchanger/ Intake /Exhaust system components and systems, catering to the specific requirements of automotive OEMs. This includes developing and enhancing products to meet customer needs. 3. Project Management: Proficiency in APQP process, particularly in time plan , gate release system, PLM, time and cost management is essential. The NPD head should be capable of working cross functionally to optimize the time overall projects development. 4. Understanding Intake and Exhaust system Criticality: The candidate must have a deep understanding of the critical aspects of intake & exhaust system including emission systems like EGR, thermal management & simulations and validation requirements. They should be well-versed in warranty and reliability requirements for these components. 5. Independent Product Development: Ability to independently develop new products and solutions without constant oversight. The NPD head should have a proactive approach to innovation. 6. Customer & team Interaction: Interact directly with customers & CFT to understand their requirements and provide technical expertise and solutions that meet their needs effectively. 7. Assembly Line Knowledge: Possess a strong understanding of the assembly line processes related to brazing, welding, bending, leak testing. Ensure that the manufacturing process is efficient and quality standards are met. Critical Skills: . Ability to cooperate with people of different levels inside/ outside the company and to interact with team to reach team goals and business objectives . Ability to express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people & to lead negotiations . Ability to recognize, respond to customer expectations with sense of urgency and even increase expectations. . Ability to negotiate with customers for new products, commodity price revision. . Ability to take actions, decisions & to generate ideas, products, processes in promised timely manner. . Ability to set goals in consistency with company objectives and to adapt plans to changing environment . Ability to enhance the execution of the standard and procedure and stay focused on his objectives to achieve high performance results. Educational Qualification: . BE/ ME Mechanical, MBA preferable Job Requirement : . Experience 15+ years in Automotive OEM/ Proprietary component business . Proficiency in communication . Application knowledge is essential. . Program Management & APQP knowledge is essential. . Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, MSP , PLM software . Knowledge of CAD, GD&T, ID simulation, CAE, is essential . Implementation of management techniques ISO 14001:2015, TS1649, IATF 16949 etc. Preferred Manufacturing /Process / Product Experience . Product Experience . Program management .
