Role & responsibilities Lead the design and engineering of chemical process equipment such as heat exchangers, reactors, pressure vessels, distillation columns, evaporators, dryers, scrubbers, etc. Oversee the preparation of General Arrangement (GA) drawings, P&IDs, fabrication drawings, and detailed engineering documentation. Collaborate with process engineers to translate process requirements into equipment specifications and design deliverables. Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME, API, IS, TEMA, etc.). Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for procurement of equipment and ensure technical compliance. Provide technical guidance to design engineers and draftsmen. Review and approve design documents, drawings, and BOMs before submission to fabrication or clients. Manage client communication on technical matters and support sales with technical proposals when required. Work with the Projects team to ensure smooth integration of design deliverables into project execution timelines. Participate in HAZOP, design reviews, and internal/external audits. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of mechanical and chemical design principles related to process equipment. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Familiarity with process simulation tools is an added advantage. Excellent project management and team leadership skills. Good understanding of fabrication processes and shop-floor coordination. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred candidate profile We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Deputy Manager - Design & Projects to lead the design and execution of chemical process equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will have thorough expertise in the design of all types of chemical process equipment involving various unit operations and process integration with strong experience in engineering drawings for fabrication and project execution.
