TL/SS Electrical Quality Engineer Job Description Roles and responsibility – Knowledge of the Transmission and Substation Processes activity viz. Responsible for Quality Assurance and Control activities at site Training all site staff about the Quality requirements as per FQP, BIS code & applicable standard Review the quality of all materials at the site and ensure compliance with all project specifications and quality and collaborate with the department for all material procurement and maintain a quality of materials. Supervise the effective implementation of all test and inspection schedules and ensure adherence to all procedures and coordinate with various teams to perform quality inspection on processes. Assist with employees to ensure knowledge of all quality standards and ensure compliance to all quality manuals and procedures and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to maintain the quality of all systems Identify and develop Master List of Testing and Measuring Equipment calibration Ensure QA/ QC tests on materials and workmanship as per FQP Coordinate with client for Quality related matters (Testing and inspection) Responsible for effective implementation of QMS at site level To maintain all the FQP documents and take sign off from client Real time Site update Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Report to the QA/QC Manager, control, and monitor all activities related to Quality Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in electrical engineering or equivalent discipline Minimum 3-year experience in Relevant industry and overall 5-7 years work experience Root cause analysis & site documentation controller experience preferred
MAIN MISSION Quality Management: a. Develop, implement, and maintain a robust ISO 9001-compliant quality management system tailored to metal fabrication processes. b. Monitor fabrication quality standards including compliance to welding procedures, dimensional tolerances, and finishing specifications. c. Investigate and resolve quality issues and non-conformances, drive root cause analysis and corrective actions. d. Oversee calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment. Health & Safety: a. Enforce compliance with occupational safety regulations, particularly regarding high-risk fabrication activities (e.g., welding, grinding, lifting, refractory activities). b. Conduct regular HSE audits, risk assessments, mock drills and incident investigations in the workshop and job sites. c. Lead implementation of safe systems of work (SSOW), permit-to-work systems, and PPE compliance. HR – Job Offer d. Deliver safety training and awareness programs specific to fabrication operations. e. Keep safety programs and training up to date with industry and organizational policy Environmental Management: a. Implement and monitor ISO 14001-based environmental controls specific to metal fabrication, including emissions, chemical handling, and waste disposal. b. Ensure safe and compliant storage & disposal of hazardous materials such as solvents, coatings, and cutting fluids. c. Promote sustainability initiatives, including scrap metal recycling and energy efficiency. Compliance and Administration: a. Incorporate and maintain internal controls of the organization as a part of internal procedures. b. Monitor and verify implementation of internal controls through audits and regular reporting. c. Identify statutory and regulatory compliances applicable for the workshop and apply in time for the necessary approvals and renewals d. Work with the identified legal partners to liase in time for necessary approvals and renewals. e. Oversee and ensure timely filing of statutory returns in relation to Factories act, environment act, State ESIC, PF acts, etc. and co-ordinate with respective functions (Finance, HR, production) for timely compliance. f. Oversee general administration of the workshop in close co-ordination with plant head for i. Security & safety of assets ii. Periodic monitoring of assets to ensure they are in good health iii. Oversee travel management and co-ordination for company visitors along with logistics team iv. Identify frequently purchased consumables and establish relationship with vendors (rate contracts, corporate discounts, etc.) – PO system to be followed Leadership & Coordination: a. Supervise and develop a QHSE partners within the contractors as a team. b. Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and project teams to integrate QHSE principles into daily operations. c. Liaise with clients and external auditors on QHSE-related matters and certifications. d. Lead certification activités – ASME, ISO, IBR, PESO, EN, etc. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. At least 10 years’ QHSE management experience in a metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment. Certified ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (preferred). Should be familiar with the use of quality tools, RCA and implementation of CA In-depth knowledge of fabrication-specific risks and standards (e.g., welding codes, OSHA regulations, machine guarding). Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
