We're looking for a skilled Application Engineer to join our team, focusing on the critical Operational Technology (OT) environment. In this role, you'll be instrumental in designing, deploying, and securing the application and server infrastructure that supports our centralized domain. You'll work closely with network and generalist teams, ensuring robust application interfaces and secure deployments, with specific experience in tools like LanSweeper. Key Responsibilities: Application & Server Infrastructure Design: Work alongside the OT Network Engineer and OT Generalist to deeply understand the existing application landscape and thoroughly document relevant systems and interfaces. Design application interfaces and the server infrastructure necessary to support the centralized domain. Design the application-specific aspects of firewall rules and actively participate in their deployment and testing. Configuration & Deployment: Configure servers and applications within the newly created process and DMZ domains. Provision and configure the operating system and all necessary prerequisites on the server designated to host the LanSweeper application. Install the LanSweeper software on the newly built server and configure its settings precisely according to the requirements for scanning the OT environment. Cybersecurity & Remediation: Evaluate the cyber readiness of applications and servers, and implement remediation plans in coordination with the OT Network Engineer. Install cybersecurity tools on relevant machines and ensure proper upward reporting for all application and server components. Scanning & Monitoring (LanSweeper): Define the scope, frequency, and type of scans that LanSweeper will perform on OT network assets. Monitor LanSweeper scans to ensure they run successfully and collect all required information. Investigate and resolve any application-level errors or issues that prevent successful scanning. Configure the LanSweeper application to connect to the database, providing all necessary credentials and connection parameters, and troubleshoot any application-level connectivity problems. Support & Training: Provide essential application and server-related support during the hyper care period. Conduct application-specific training for relevant teams. Required Skills & Experience: 3-5 years of experience as an Application Engineer, preferably within an OT or industrial control system environment. Strong understanding of application interfaces and server infrastructure design. Hands-on experience with server and application configuration in Windows/Linux environments. Familiarity with firewall rules from an application perspective. Experience with cybersecurity readiness assessments and remediation. Proven ability to install and configure cybersecurity tools. Direct experience with LanSweeper application installation, configuration, and troubleshooting is a significant plus. Ability to define and monitor scanning activities. Excellent troubleshooting skills for application-level issues. Strong documentation and communication skills.

Your role and responsibilities : Contribute to the design and development of scalable, multi-tenant microservices that power the platform. Implement platform solutions with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability. Collaborate with SRE and infrastructure teams to ensure the platform is highly available and optimized for cost and resource usage. Work directly with internal users (developers, technical owners, and security specialists) to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions. Assist in defining and maintaining platform standards, including code quality, testing, and security. Develop and maintain features in the developer portal to enhance the overall developer experience. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to platform performance, security, and scalability. Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production issues when needed. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to contribute to platform evolution. Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting best practices. Required education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred education: Master's Degree Required technical and professional expertise: 5+ years of experience in software development, with exposure to platform engineering and microservice architectures. Proficiency in Golang with at least 3 years of hands-on experience. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other container orchestration platforms. Understanding of virtualization technologies like KVM, VMware, or KubeVirt. Familiarity with building Kubernetes/OpenShift Operators (e.g., kube-builder, operator-sdk) and container orchestration lifecycle concepts such as reconciliation loops and API extensions. Knowledge of multi-tenant system design and architecture. Experience with cloud-native development, CI/CD pipelines, and automation. Deep knowledge of Linux systems administration and networking. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Ansible and Terraform. Experience in designing and implementing APIs and microservices. Awareness of security best practices for platform development and management. Basic understanding of at least one public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle technical challenges. Preferred technical and professional experience Experience working in an enterprise environment with multiple development teams. Exposure to IBM cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools. Basic knowledge of service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) and distributed tracing.
