As a Team Lead / Head for the Bridges group in Bengaluru at WSP India, you will play a crucial role in demonstrating technical and managerial leadership skills. Your responsibilities will include project management, technical leadership, and ensuring timely delivery of technical outputs. You will collaborate with internal colleagues, act as the face of the India-based T&I Canada iCRC Bridges team, and ensure local health and safety compliance. Additionally, you will provide inspirational leadership for the iCRC Bridges team, mentor team members, and oversee recruitment and staff appraisals. You should possess a proven working knowledge of transportation and infrastructure design in various provinces across Canada, with at least 5 years of experience in Canada projects. Technical proficiency with finite element programming tools such as CSIBridge, Sofistik, and MIDAS Civil is essential. An understanding of transportation standards and design practices for provinces like BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, and Ontario would be advantageous. Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are key requirements for this role. You should be comfortable leading internal engineering discussions, managing technical issues, and interacting with both technical and non-technical professionals. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Desirable skills include adaptability, strong work ethic, ethical conduct, and a successful track record in infrastructure design projects. Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering and have Chartered/Professional Engineer status with a recognized institution. A minimum of 15 years of experience in infrastructure design, project management, or leadership in a consulting engineering environment is required. You should be focused on client satisfaction, knowledge sharing, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Your role will involve leading people inclusively, motivating staff towards technical progression, and managing change effectively. Business focus areas include ensuring commercial success, maintaining quality standards, managing project budgets, and driving innovation.
