As a Global Product Specialist (GPS) at Hitachi Energy within the Global Product Group (GPG) Power Transformers, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Global Product Manager (GPM) for Industrial & Specialty (I&S) Transformers, working closely with R&D centers, Hubs, and local business teams worldwide. Your role involves capturing and translating customer requirements into improvements for existing solutions and setting directions for new product developments in the dynamic electrical grid industry. **Key Responsibilities:** - Analyze market situation by understanding international standards, market & customer requirements, and their impact on the portfolio. - Conduct competitor analyses to identify technical product gaps and competitiveness opportunities. - Manage technical specifications of Industrial and Specialty Power Transformers, supporting product development and competitiveness. - Collect and share market technical data to aid in new product development and validate product performance. - Prepare and deliver technical communication materials to support product launches and enhance market positioning. - Keep various teams informed on Industrial and Specialty transformer topics including market trends, quality, and configurations. - Provide support for data quality improvement, sales activities, customer meetings, and industry events to identify customer needs and values. - Ensure training material for Industrial and Specialty transformers, with a focus on Offshore Substation and Subsea Transformers, is available for internal and external use. **Qualifications Required:** - MSc or BSc Engineering degree. - Minimum 5 years of experience in transformer engineering and/or research & development. - Technical knowledge of transformer portfolio, experience with offshore wind or O&G substation transformers is a plus. - Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences. - Ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Fluent in English, with experience in writing technical papers and reports.
