Summary of Job Hands-on experience on Biochemical and Cell-based assays. Key Responsibilities Cell based assays: Candidate with good knowledge on cell culturing techniques & cell-based assays. Ex: Cell viability assay, Transfection, High-throughput Screening, Western Blotting, multiplex ELISA, Immunofluorescence assays, and Cell migration assays, flowcytometry etc. Experience on PBMC isolation, T cell purification/activation/differentiation assays. Biochemical assays: Hands on experience of conducting biochemical assays (HTRF, ADP-Glo, Alpha LISA) Should have hands on experience on other cellular assays- Reporter assays, Cytotoxicity assays, gene expression studies etc. Should independently work and analyze the data. Well versed with the data analysis software, Excel, Prism-GraphPad & FlowJo. Key Competencies Technical: Multi-channel pipettes, Multimode plate readers, SDS-PAGE, western blot, operation of centrifuge, ELISA etc. Functional Good hands-on experience on Biochemical, and Cell based assays. Molecular Biology activities like plasmid and genomic DNA preparation, PCR amplification, restriction digestion, molecular cloning, sequence confirmation, involved in vector construction for stable and transient gene expression. Routine cell bank preparation of microbial and mammalian cells. Analytical skills related to protein estimation and characterization like, ELISA, SDS PAGE/Western Blot, Octet and HPLC. Standard cell culture activity such as vial thaw, subculturing, transfection, single cell cloning, fed batch, monoclonality assurance. Experience in bacterial and yeast expression systems preferred. Routine documentation in electronic notebook. Preparation of SOP/GM and development reports. Industrial experience of 4-6 years in cell line development.

This position is available in the lab of Dr. Bhavana Muralidharan, who studies brain development in health and disease. One of the candidates will work with Dr. Kruttika Phalnikar, a DBT Wellcome Trust Early Career fellow. The ideal candidate should be proficient in working with stem cell and mammalian cell culture, mouse brain, and basic and advanced molecular biology techniques such as cloning, transfection, and epigenetic analysis. Additional skills include confocal/fluorescent microscopy. The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational and planning abilities, and a demonstrated record of scientific productivity. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is essential.
