Trainer - Medical Record Assistant

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Ø · Conduct theoretical and practical training on medical record management in ophthalmology.

Ø · Teach students how to create, maintain, and update patient records accurately.

Ø · Train students in hospital management software (HMS) and electronic medical records (EMR).

Ø · Explain ophthalmic terminologies, ICD coding, and procedure documentation.

Ø · Instruct students on filing systems, record retrieval, and archiving protocols.

Ø · Emphasize the importance of data privacy, confidentiality, and legal compliance.

Ø · Teach communication skills for interacting with patients and medical staff.

Ø · Provide hands-on training in outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) registration processes.

Ø · Supervise students during clinical postings in medical record departments.

Ø · Conduct regular assessments to evaluate theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Ø · Maintain student attendance, performance records, and feedback reports.

Ø · Guide students in using digital tools, data entry methods, and reporting formats.

Ø · Update training materials as per latest standards and digital trends in health records.

Ø · Mentor students and provide academic and professional support.

Ø · Coordinate with hospitals or clinics for real-time exposure and internships.

Ø · Ensure discipline, accuracy, and professionalism in all training activities.

Ø · Participate in program reviews, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Ø · Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Administrator or Management (e.g., support in planning, documentation, or administrative tasks).
