Performs skilled activities which support manufacturing business needs. Selects and uses appropriate tools, machinery, and specialty equipment. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and instruct or coach others. Instruct and coach others and act as an informal resource for team members with less capability. Perform and document preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities. Maintain clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. Perform other miscellaneous duties as required to meet production goals. Work with peers and support staff to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and improve processes. Participate in continuous improvement activities. External Qualifications and Competencies Qualifications: Education, Licenses, Certifications: High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position Experience: Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience. Knowledge/Skills: Good knowledge of Precision Grinding (OD and ID Grinding) and Machining processes. Awareness of CNC Programming (Fanuc and Siemens). Capability analysis, problem-solving approach, and continuous improvement methodology. Preferred experience in Unconventional Machining processes such as Electrical Discharge Machining and Abrasive Flow Machining. Knowledge of Tooling management (Procurement, Spare management, Localization, etc.). Willingness to work in all three shifts based on production plan. Good understanding of Work Instructions and other process planning documentation.

Manage the hourly count performance & cell performance board Ensure adherence to standard work, SHE standards , 5 S standards, Change over standards, tooling management Train, coach and assess line operators. Exposure to managing Damper/shock absorber production would be added advantage. Engage operations for Employees suggestions in S/Q/C/P etc. Update and monitor the line-side operation dashboard every 60 min. Transfer the relevant information in the shift change-over and at SFM L3? Trigger request for quick response (Andon/QR6S/A3) in case of operation deviation, e.g. down time, quality rejects from standard etc. Initiating & executing Kaizens. Basic awareness of Process & Production documents like (PFD,CP,PFMEA). Basic awareness of problem solving tools Awareness and participation in regional customer new model readiness (APQP) audits. Reduction in internal & customer PPM. Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Optimize machine setups, tooling, and cutting parameters to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Tooling Management: Design and select appropriate tooling for machining operations. Manage tool inventory and ensure availability of necessary tools. Implement tool maintenance and sharpening programs. Oversee tool room operations. Machine Shop Operations: Plan and schedule production activities to meet production targets. Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and implement preventive maintenance programs. Ensure adherence to quality control procedures and standards. Program CNC machines.
