As a Senior Engineer in Transfer Automation and Finger Design, you will be responsible for designing transfer fingers and related elements in 3D using Catia-V5. Your role will involve preparing detailed 2D drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM) in standard formats. You will need to analyze 2D/3D Die Layout, Process plan, and Die Design requirements to anticipate potential interferences and collision issues in EOAT (Transfer Fingers) design. Understanding the specific requirements of Stamping plants/presses and incorporating them into the design will be essential. You will be expected to apply various standard components from different suppliers and collaborate with different functions such as Transfer Simulation team, Die Engineers, and Plant Engineers as necessary. Adherence to design timelines and identification/implementation of continuous improvement opportunities in Transfer Tooling design activities are key aspects of this role. Maintaining Quality Management System (QMS) related documentation and effective data management will also be part of your responsibilities. To qualify for this position, you should hold a B.E/B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in CATIA V5 is a must, and experience in Tool design for Transfer press would be advantageous. Familiarity with Transfer Simulation is an additional asset. Strong knowledge of Transfer press, Interference curves, and production environments, as well as understanding of Press work and Stamping processes related to Body-in-white parts, are desirable.
