As an OCT Technician, you play a crucial role in capturing high-resolution images of the eye using OCT equipment. Your responsibilities include: - Operating OCT equipment to capture detailed images of the retina, macula, optic nerve head, and other eye structures. - Positioning patients correctly for optimal imaging results and ensuring their comfort throughout the procedure. - Performing various OCT imaging techniques such as time-domain OCT, spectral-domain OCT, or swept-source OCT as needed. - Reviewing and assessing the quality of captured images, providing preliminary analysis to the medical team. - Maintaining and calibrating OCT equipment to ensure proper functioning. - Collaborating with ophthalmologists and optometrists to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. Qualifications required for this role: - Experience in operating OCT equipment and knowledge of OCT imaging technology. - Strong understanding of eye anatomy, especially the retina and optic nerve. - Familiarity with medical imaging systems and software for processing OCT images. - Excellent communication skills to educate patients and work effectively with the medical team. - Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing patient data and records. You should have an Associate degree or technical certification in ophthalmic or medical imaging technology. Certification as an OCT technician is a plus, along with experience in a healthcare or ophthalmic setting. In terms of physical requirements, you should be comfortable standing, sitting, and assisting patients in various positions for extended periods. You should also be able to handle delicate medical equipment and lift or move it as needed. You will primarily work in a clinical or medical office setting, interacting with patients of different ages. The job may involve exposure to medical environments, requiring compliance with health and safety standards. This is a full-time position with benefits such as leave encashment and Provident Fund.
