As a Mechanical Engineer with a background in vehicle assembly line layout optimization, you will be responsible for suggesting, preparing, reviewing, and modifying layout options using AutoCAD software. Your primary focus will be on improving vehicle manufacturing assembly line layouts, workstation arrangements, equipment placement, material flow, manufacturing processes, and techniques to enhance layouts and space utilization efficiently. You should possess a strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, time studies, line balancing, Value stream mapping, and identifying various types of waste in the assembly production line. Your role will involve analyzing existing assembly line processes and layouts to identify areas for improvement, considering factors such as mix product variants, fixture space, special fixture requirements for complex parts, bin storage capacity, kitting, and available tools. Collaboration with a cross-functional team, including plant ME and production team members, will be essential for layout options reviews and incorporating inputs effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing detailed layout drawings and documentation for approval and production readiness reviews. It is imperative to ensure compliance with industry best practices related to layout design, ergonomics, safety, and quality standards. Furthermore, you will be expected to provide different solutions, handle projects independently, and support the plant in the proposed assembly line layout trials to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. Strong communication skills in English are required for effective project ownership and coordination with stakeholders.
