Page 1 of 2 Job Profile Title: Lead Engineer Power Electronics Qualifications: Bachelors or Master degree in Electrical, Electronics or Power electronics from a reputed University. Experience: Min. 7 to 10 years experience in relevant field. Expected Job Role: Design of Power Electronics product like Variable Frequency Drives, Static Frequency Converters, Soft Starters, DC/DC converters, DC/AC inverters, UPS, Battery Chargers, etc for high power applications. Power Circuit Design including power switching devices like (IGBTs, Thyristors MOSFETs with Heat Sink Design), Filter Circuits having chokes/inductors & capacitors. Good Knowledge on electrical components and their interface. High voltage and current design guidelines Electrical components selection based on switching device and power requirements Analysis of design for heat dissipation, power dissipation, temperature rise for given IP ratings, power budget calculations. Good knowledge on Drivers & protections, power waveform analysis. Preparation of System Design Drawings (Selection of Components, Preparation of BOMs, Power Scheme / Control Scheme, GA, Internal Layouts, Wiring Diagrams) and submission to customer for approval. Preparation of Quality Assurance Plans, Internal Test Procedures, Acceptance Test Procedures, Type Test Plans as per order specifications and getting customer approvals Release of finalised design documents for manufacturing / production. Interact with Embedded Design team for PCB Design specifications, Software Logic Development and functional validation. Technical support to Sales for technical offer and cost estimates on need basis Interaction with internal departments for co-ordination of various activities for assigned project Customer interaction and onsite visits for feasibility studies, technical discussions related to assigned project. Technical competency: Proficiency in Design of IGBT / Thyristor based solid state controls & Power circuit design for DC/AC Motor Controls, DC/DC converters, DC/AC inverters, UPS, Battery Chargers, Frequency Converters, etc for high power applications Design of Magnetics for Power conversion applications including inductors, Common Mode and differential chokes, Design of suitable filters for noise Page 2 of 2 mitigation Design / Selection of Thermal Engineering parts, Calculation of heat load & heat sink design for Power Electronics Applications Knowledge of Product compliance testing as per industrial standards or MIL Standards for Environmental conditions and EMI/EMC. Understanding Customer requirements / RFP specifications and offering solutions with the available technology Familiarity with Drafting Tools like AutoCad, Solidworks and Electrical Design tools. Experience on preparation of System Design Drawings (Selection of Components, Preparation of BOMs, Power Scheme / Control Scheme, GA, Internal Layouts, Wiring Diagrams) and submission to customer for approval. Experience on preparation of Quality Assurance Plans, Internal Test Procedures, Acceptance Test Procedures, Type Test Plans as per order specifications and getting customer approvals Excellent analytical & inter-personal skills with proven ability in driving the project Hands-on experience in defence domain will be an added advantage
