As a key contributor to the engineering software team, you will have a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of advanced engineering tools used in the design and operation of power plants. Your work directly supports the delivery of high-quality, safety-compliant engineering solutions that drive innovation and efficiency in the global energy sector. You will drive testing and quality assurance activities for state-of-the-art in-house developed power plant and power plant component engineering tools to improve productivity, ensure reliability, and compliance with Nuclear Safety requirements. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing bugs, documenting problem statements, formulating solutions, and estimating efforts for immediate and long-term solutions. Furthermore, you will provide expertise in quality engineering, test planning, and testing methodology for engineering tools. Developing and executing maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases will be part of your role. You will test and validate engineering tool releases through manual and automated testing. Additionally, providing technical support and training to end users of engineering tools and troubleshooting and resolving issues related to engineering data, performance, reliability, and usability of engineering tools are key responsibilities. Applying principles of SDLC, Agile Methodologies, Continuous Integration, and product security is essential in this role. Collaboration with cross-functional engineering and software teams to gather feedback, understand product requirements, areas of improvement, and company vision is crucial. Demonstrating initiative to explore alternate technologies and approaches to problem-solving and staying aware of competitors and industry trends are important aspects of the role. In terms of technical expertise and experience, a Bachelor's Degree in STEM majors is required, while a Master's degree would be a plus. Professional experience in at least one engineering discipline such as Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, or Fluid Mechanics is necessary. Experience in using engineering tools for tendering and/or execution of power plant projects, testing desktop applications and web services, test automation, agile project management, and familiarity with standard software development kits are also expected. As a Gas Turbines Service Customer Order Engineer at Siemens Energy India Limited, your role will involve leading the upgrade implementation of gas turbine modernization projects. This includes technical clarification of relevant engineering scope for GT core Engine in collaboration with COE Lead, Negotiation Team, and interface partner organizations. You will be responsible for coordinating technical details, time schedule, and budget for the upgrade, as well as preparing specific engineering outputs such as BSOL lists, project specific retrofit scope, and testing documentation.
