Understand and comprehend requirements, understand operating environment of the component and systems. Carry out linear and non-linear Stress analysis, Thermal analysis and Dynamic analysis (Modal and forced response) Define and document scope and approach with appropriate loads and boundary conditions and define appropriate acceptance criteria. Carry out analytical calculations using first principles / engineering fundamentals, perform sanity checks on analysis results, create MS-excel based calculators if required. Interpret analysis results and provide appropriate design recommendations considering manufacturing, assembly and cost aspects. Resolve analysis related issues / convergence issues. Prepare clear and concise technical documentation and reports.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Battery Pack Design Engineer to join our engineering team. As part of this team, you will play a crucial role in designing hardware for flight-critical components and systems for our aircraft. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation or similar industries, with at least 6 years of experience in designing, developing, and integrating battery/energy systems for advanced aerospace/automotive applications. Key Responsibilities: Design battery modules, packs, enclosures, and mounting systems optimized for aerospace use. Ensure mechanical robustness, thermal management, and protection for the battery system (crashworthiness, vibration, fire containment). Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and safety teams for battery integration and system-level optimization. Perform structural analysis, thermal analysis, and safety evaluations of battery enclosures. Develop detailed CAD models, drawings, and BOMs for battery assemblies. Ensure compliance with industry standards for battery packaging (DO-311A, UN 38.3, RTCA guidelines). Interface with battery suppliers, cell manufacturers, and manufacturing teams. Support testing and validation of battery systems, including environmental and mechanical testing. Qualifications: Bachelor s or Master s Degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical design for batteries, EVs, aerospace, or related fields. Expertise with 3D CAD software, Siemens NX or similar. Experience with mechanical and thermal FEA tools (Ansys, COMSOL, Abaqus). Knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology, packaging materials, and thermal management. Familiarity with certification requirements and aerospace-grade safety standards. Strong background in DFM, DFA, and quality assurance practices. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with battery thermal runaway mitigation techniques. Background in high-voltage system design and safety practices.
