Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Pharmacist at Theni Cancer Institute located in Panruti. The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medication, counseling patients on proper medication use, maintaining accurate patient records, and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize patient care. Key Responsibilities 1. Community Engagement & Awareness - Design and execute comprehensive cancer awareness campaigns targeting diverse community groups - Organize and facilitate health education sessions, workshops, and community gatherings - Develop culturally sensitive educational materials on cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment options - Conduct outreach programs in gated communities, schools, colleges, community centers, and rural areas 2. Screening Program Coordination - Coordinate cancer screening camps and health checkup initiatives - Collaborate with medical teams to set up screening booths at strategic locations - Ensure proper follow-up for positive screening cases and guide patients through appropriate referral pathways - Maintain screening program databases and track participant outcomes 3. Partnership Development - Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, healthcare providers, NGOs, and government agencies - Establish partnerships with corporate organizations for workplace health programs - Collaborate with local leaders, religious institutions, and community organizations to expand reach 4. Program Implementation & Monitoring - Plan, organize, and monitor health awareness events including health fairs and medical camps - Develop metrics to measure program effectiveness and community impact - Prepare regular reports on outreach activities and screening program outcomes - Ensure compliance with organizational protocols and healthcare guidelines 5. Patient Support & Advocacy - Provide guidance and emotional support to cancer patients and their families - Connect patients with appropriate healthcare services and financial assistance programs - Advocate for patient needs within healthcare systems - Facilitate support group meetings for cancer survivors Required Qualifications Education: - Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Work, or related field - Master's degree in relevant field preferred Experience: - Fresher or 2-3 years of experience in community health, social work, or healthcare outreach - Previous experience with cancer care or chronic disease programs is highly valued - Experience in organizing community events and health screening programs Skills & Competencies: - Excellent communication skills in English and Tamil (local language proficiency essential) - Strong interpersonal skills with ability to connect with diverse community members - Cultural sensitivity and ability to address health stigmas and misconceptions - Organizational skills with ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously - Basic understanding of cancer types, prevention strategies, and healthcare systems - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data management About Theni Cancer Institute (TCI) Theni Cancer Institute is a dedicated NGO organization committed to transforming cancer care and prevention across communities.
