Job Description / Responsibilities: We are looking for a MS SQL DBA to manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases to meet our company and client needs. This is a full-time contract position with remote work . The candidate is required to work at least 4 hours during TSG business time (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST). The work location is remote , and relocation is not required. However, flexibility regarding business hours may evolve based on your productivity, knowledge, and skills. Key Responsibilities: Database Installation & Configuration : Set up new SQL Server instances, configure them as per organizational requirements. Security Management : Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard data. Performance Tuning : Optimize SQL Server performance through query analysis, indexing, and more. Backup & Recovery : Develop and manage backup procedures and recovery plans. Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve database-related issues (performance, errors, connectivity). Data Management : Ensure data integrity, consistency, and availability. Monitoring : Continuously monitor the health and performance of SQL Server instances. Automation : Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like T-SQL. Collaboration : Work closely with other IT teams to ensure smooth operations of related systems and applications. Continuous Learning : Stay updated on the latest SQL Server features and best practices. Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field. Required Skills: SQL Server Expertise : Deep knowledge of SQL Server architecture, features, and functionalities. Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL : Ability to write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures. Database Design : Strong understanding of database design principles for creating efficient and scalable database structures. Experience with SSIS, SSAS, SSRS : Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services, Analysis Services, and Reporting Services. Cloud Experience : Knowledge of Azure SQL Database and cloud-based database environments. Desired Profile of the Candidate: Experience : A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA). Compensation: Compensation will be based on skills and experience.
