Job Description

As a Storage Administrator, your core responsibilities will include overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of storage systems such as SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network Attached Storage), and DAS (Direct Attached Storage). You will manage storage arrays, backup systems, and related infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This involves conducting hardware and software upgrades, capacity planning, and performance tuning to maintain efficient operations. Your role will also involve implementing and managing data backup and recovery strategies to guarantee the availability and integrity of backups, disaster recovery processes, and business continuity plans. You will be responsible for optimizing backup performance and storage capacity to ensure consistent and reliable backup operations. Monitoring storage capacity and performance will be a key aspect of your job, allowing you to proactively address potential issues and manage data growth efficiently. You will be expected to implement best practices for system optimization, scalability, and high availability to maintain a robust storage infrastructure. Data security will be a critical focus area, where you will implement and maintain security measures to safeguard data from unauthorized access, corruption, or loss. This includes managing access controls, encryption, and other security protocols to uphold data integrity. Providing technical support for storage-related issues will be part of your routine, involving diagnosing and resolving problems efficiently. Collaboration with vendors may be necessary to resolve complex issues effectively. Maintaining detailed documentation of storage configurations, processes, and procedures will be essential. You will be responsible for generating performance reports, capacity usage reports, and summaries of issue resolutions to keep track of storage infrastructure operations. Collaboration with other IT teams will be crucial to ensure the seamless integration of storage infrastructure with other systems, promoting a cohesive IT environment. Key Skills required for this role include good experience and knowledge of PowerMax/VMAX, expertise in SRDF STAR/Async DR Drill Activities, monitoring and reporting on Power Max and CISCO MDS 9k series SAN Switches, and SAN storage provisioning on ESXi/Hypervisor platforms such as VMware, RHEL, etc.,
